Publisher Slitherine and developer Black Lab Games have announced the release of the Demon update for Warhammer 40K: Warzone Battlesector, a turn-based squad tactics game based on the Baal system.
The update is available for free today (July 28) to all Warhammer 40k: Warzone players on PC and consoles. They just have to fire up and update the game, and they’ll find new content available: three new conflict maps, a new “Siege” objective type, and a new minor faction: the demons of Khorne.
New in the Demon Update:
New objective type: “Siege” is an asynchronous objective that can be used in skirmishes, multiplayer and basic attack combat for planetary supremacy. The attacker must capture 4 strategic capture points, while the defender works to eliminate the attacker’s army.
3 new maps: “Fortress of Redemption” is a Blood Angel-themed map, “Feeding Ground” is a Tyranid-themed map, and “Black Rock” is a Necronomicon-themed map. These maps can be used in Base Attacks, Skirmishes, and Multiplayer for Planetary Supremacy.
Added a new minor faction for Planetary Supremacy: the Demons of Khorne. Chaos begins to invade the war zone, which includes the fighting forces of Khorne demons like Bloodlines, Bloodhounds, Fleshhounds, and the mighty Skeleton Cannon.
- Changed the starting position of the minor faction units in the planetary supremacy battle. Enemy units will now spread around the map instead of starting from the other end of the map, similar to the Crimson Dawn campaign.
- Planetary hegemony accelerated reinforcements. You can now spend extra Requisition Tokens to cool a unit earlier.
Originally released for PC in July 2021, Warhammer 40k: Warzone is set in the iconic Warhammer 40K universe, where players engage in strategic turn-based combat on a grid-based map. Since its launch, Black Lab has released Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game, two smaller expansions for its faction – Blood Angels Elite and Tyranid Elite, and a full DLC for the Necro faction.
With the Necronomicon DLC, Slitherine also released the first major free update to the Battle for Planetary Supremacy: a randomly generated hex-based strategy map that serves as the backdrop for linked skirmishes involving all three available factions.
