Samsung is reconfiguring the aspect ratio of the cover and inner display for the fourth-generation Galaxy Z Fold, which will launch on August 10. The cover display will change from 24.5:9 to 23:9, and judging from this image shared by Ice Universe, the company has also found a way to shrink the bezels a bit.
Comparison images show the Vivo X Fold (top), the new Galaxy Z Fold4 (middle), and the Galaxy Z Fold3 (bottom), with thinner vertical and horizontal bezels than the outgoing Z Fold’s bezels.

One more thing to note in this image – the hinge profile is noticeably different, the Fold4 is more compact, and rumor has it that the new hinge has been redesigned with a smaller crease.
Going back to the aspect ratio, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 body will be thicker to give apps more horizontal space on the cover display and make the upper part of the display more accessible, so the inner display will also be Slightly closer to the square, changing from a 6.25:5 aspect ratio to 6:5.
Samsung has promised to release some official teasers in the three weeks leading up to the Unpacked event, and we expect we’ll get some confirmation of the display and hinge rumors.
The first official renders of the Galaxy Z Fold4 (and Z Flip4) have already leaked. By the way, fans in the US can already pre-order and will get $100 in store credit for it — if they are pre-order both the Galaxy Watch 5 and the new Galaxy Buds (both will debut at the same Unpacked event), Up to $200 off.
