Activision has unveiled a new way to combat botched players in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone – Disarm. This is a cheat-reduction technique that removes the user’s ability to inflict damage. “As the name suggests, when cheaters are discovered, we simply take their weapons (including fists),” Activision said in a blog post.
It is worth mentioning that Activision has previously announced a variety of anti-cheat technologies. One of them, the “Damage Shield”, can disable the player’s ability to inflict lethal damage to others if the server detects that the player is tampering with the game in real-time.
The other is called Cloaking, which will make cheaters invisible to regular players, and even the bullets and sounds of normal players cannot be detected.
“The purpose of the mitigations (anti-cheat technology) is to allow cheaters to stay in the game and analyze their data while reducing their ability to affect the experience of legitimate players,” Activision said.
Data collected by publishers shows that as mitigations kick in, the number of cheating reports has decreased — “either because players are being swept up in a wave of bans, or their bad behavior isn’t getting in the way of your legitimate fun (because we play games). cut them off in their wicked ways).”
Of course, the biggest deterrent to cheating is still the ban, which is issued every day, often on a large scale. Activision says it has blocked more than 180,000 more accounts in Call of Duty: Pioneer and Call of Duty: Warzone since its last update in late April.
