Google Pixel tablet has officially announced that it will be launched in 2023, and will be equipped with Google Tensor chips like mobile phones. According to information discovered by 9to5Google, the Pixel tablet is expected to come with a dedicated dock and even replace the Nest Hub smart display.
Android code reportedly shows that the Pixel tablet can be attached to a dedicated dock dubbed the “Google Dock” via several contacts on the back. The dock may not be officially released with that name, and its purpose is to charge the Pixel tablet.
Google has previously been developing a Nest Hub with a “dockable tablet form factor” in which the screen is “detached from the base/speaker”, which sounds similar to the latest revelations.
In addition, the code also shows that Google is preparing to add support for the Nest Hub ultrasound feature in Android. The Nest Hub device uses ultrasound to detect the user’s presence and lights up in response. Google is incorporating similar functionality into Android, with support for playing and recording ultrasounds, seemingly for the Pixel tablet.
