On the eve of the WWDC 2022 conference, Apple officially announced the Design Awards app shortlist. This annual Design Awards event honors “superior innovation, ingenuity and technical achievement in application and game design”. A key part of WWDC, the awards highlight some of what Apple considers to be some of the best apps in a variety of subject areas.
The Design Awards app is divided into 6 categories, and each category has 6 shortlisted apps. Winners will receive in-kind awards from Apple and promote their achievements in the App Store. Winning the award also gives developers a reputation, which can help their standing in the market. The six categories include Delight and Fun, Interaction, Social Impact, Visuals and Graphics, Innovation) and Inclusivity.
Among them, Delight and Fun refer to applications that provide unforgettable, engaging, and satisfying experiences through Apple technology; Interaction refers to providing an intuitive interface and effortless control, Perfectly suited to their platform.
Social Impact means improving lives in a meaningful way that solves some critical problems; Visuals and Graphics mean stunning graphics, expertly drawn interfaces, and high-quality animations that help to form a unique, cohesive theme.
Innovation means providing a state-of-the-art experience through the novel use of Apple technology that sets it apart from its peers, while Inclusivity means supporting people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and languages, a good experience for all.
