Microsoft is reviving its popular strategy series Age of Empires, and the new title, Age of Empires 4, builds on its steady release with constant content updates to keep players coming back. Of course, as a real-time strategy series, Age of Empires has never really been tied to any platform other than PC — and even then, there’s some evidence that it could be coming to consoles soon.
As reported by Exputer, Age of Empires 4’s Microsoft Store details page appears to indicate that the game may be coming to Xbox consoles soon, stating: “Online multiplayer on consoles require an Xbox subscription.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard hints about a possible console release for the strategy game. Earlier this year, an internal product test for the Xbox Insider Hub seemed to come to the same conclusion.
After the release of Age of Empires 4 on PC, Microsoft said that while there were no clear plans to bring the game to the Xbox platform, it was something they were considering.
