Foldable phones have yet to go mainstream, mainly due to their high price and some controversy over the form factor. Everyone who has used a folding machine will not deny that it has a lot of room for improvement. However, Samsung, which happens to be the market leader, seems to have temporarily stopped innovating with its new foldable phone.
The leaker Ice universe has some bad news for potential Galaxy Fold buyers. The leaker doesn’t seem to have many expectations for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. According to the leaker, Samsung’s next foldable phone will be a slightly better version of its predecessor. It’s clear that the leaker isn’t talking about specs here, instead, he’s more concerned with design.
Notably, Samsung has started removing the letter “Z” from its phones, presumably because it was used by the Russian military to label itself. The company may not include a ‘Z’ in the branding of its future foldable phones, despite a branding change in some European countries. Therefore, we cannot rule out the possibility that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will morph into Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4, respectively.
I’m more concerned about the Fold4, which, in Samsung’s style, won’t easily change the design to keep costs to a minimum unless its market share is threatened. Fold4 may be just Fold3s, or Fold2ss

Right now, we don’t know much about the specs of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone, and vouching for a familiar design might also be a good thing for many users. Those who want to upgrade their Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 3 devices to Galaxy Z Fold 4 will not have much discomfort after the upgrade, and some details will be improved, not to mention that the performance will definitely usher in the latest hardware.
