The presentation of the new PlayStation Plus subscription brings with it some doubts, one of which concerns the number of free monthly games for subscribers. Currently, there are three (or four, with bonuses) … will it become two?
On the PlayStation Blog, Sony reports that the PlayStation Plus Essentials plan (€ 8.99 per month or € 59.99 per year) will offer “the same benefits currently available to PlayStation Plus subscribers”, including two downloadable games per month.
Two? There are currently three free games in the Instant Game Collection, does this mean that from June basic subscribers will have one less game every month? The situation is unclear and could be a simple mistake, or does Sony consider two free games per month as a “regular” option while the third is offered as a bonus?
In reality, it could not change anything compared to today and Sony itself speaks of the “same advantages”, however dubious the phrase may have only been expressed in a not too clear way, in fact, the situation could remain unchanged.
A leak of the free PlayStation Plus games of April 2022 reveals the arrival of Hood Outlaws and Legends, Slay the Spire and Spongebob Squarepants Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated while in March the lineup includes ARK Survival Evolved, Ghost of Tsushima Legends, Ghostrunner and Team Sonic Racing, for a total of four games.
