Windows 11 next feature update confirms that v22H2 will be officially launched soon

In an update released last Thursday, Windows Update confirmed that the next feature update for Windows 11 is called Version 22H2. As shown in the screenshot below, when Microsoft released the KB5012427 cumulative update, the title section reads: “Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 Insider Preview”.

At the moment, the public name of the Windows 11 Version 22H2 feature update is unclear. It might be named after the month, or Microsoft might simply use the version number as the public name. Before that, Windows 11 Version 22H2 also appeared in several leaked Microsoft documents.

Of course, we already know that the 22H2 release will focus more on fixing Windows 11’s existing interfaces like the Start Menu, Control Center/Notifications, native apps like MS Paint, Windows Settings, the taskbar desktop, and other areas of the OS. The update will also bring back support for drag and drop on the taskbar and add a new task manager to Windows 11.

If you can’t wait to experience the new version, you can join the Dev channel of the Windows Insider program to experience it. However, it should be noted that the preview version released by Dev is not stable. Although the latest functions can be obtained, various problems may occur, and it is not recommended for daily office use.
