Activision has delayed the next season of Call of Duty: Warzone by a few weeks to focus on fixing the game’s bugs. The publisher announced in an announcement today that the release of Season 2 of Pioneer and Warzone Pacific has been delayed from February 2 to February 14.
We feel your disappointment and hear your feedback clearly. We have deployed many updates to date, but more work needs to be done, the announcement reads. Warzone has been plagued with issues since the launch of the new Caldera map and the addition of weapons in Vanguard in December. On consoles, in particular, the game ran into performance issues that weren’t present on older maps.
Warzone’s official Trello page is tracking some of the weirdest issues that have arisen, including a potential crash on Xbox if you press the home button too much, and some operator skins that can make players invisible from a distance.
At the same time, the reason for the delay of the Warzone update may also be related to the ongoing strike by developer Raven Software. The company previously laid off a third of the game’s QA team. Moreover, the Call of Duty series is also about to usher in a new owner – Microsoft. The tech giant announced on the evening of January 18 that it would buy all of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion.
