Owners of anime-loving Google TV devices have a new arrow in their bow when it comes to the ability to search and discover new animated series: Google TV search can now fish results directly from Crunchyroll’s anime library.
According to what has emerged on the net, Google has begun to experiment with the gradual integration of Crunchyroll over the last few weeks and has only recently completed it, even offering access to the library from the main screen of the operating system.
Obviously, this should not be confused with the general possibility of accessing the service – which was already available as an app also on Android TV -, but only the integration of the anime list within the search, so now it will be easier to reach a series or a movie even without starting the app.
Recall that Crunchyroll was acquired by Sony in the course of 2021, with the first announcement of the operation occurred at the end of 2020. In the meantime, several rumors have emerged of the possible integration of the service with the same PlayStation Plus. Meanwhile, we report that the news discussed in the article relates exclusively to Google TV devices, while for those based on Android TV there is still await.
