CDPR recently released its first half of the 2021 financial report. In the first half of 2021, revenue was US$124 million, a year-on-year increase of 29%; profits were US$27.6 million, a year-on-year decrease of 28%.
In the earnings call, CDPR stated that nearly a quarter of the developers (160 people) are working on the development of the first expansion pack for Cyberpunk 2077; more than a third of them are developing Cyberpunk 2077. The next-generation version of and maintain the original version; the rest are working on The Witcher’s Gwent Card and an unannounced 3A game project.
The next-generation version is an important step in our adventure in the cyberpunk world, said Adam Kiciński, co-CEO of CD Projekt. We firmly believe in the long-term potential of this IP. That’s why we are currently making the first expansion of the game, although I can’t say much for now.
CD Projekt officials are not willing to disclose any information about the first expansion pack of Cyberpunk 2077, including the release date and price. In addition, the latest patch of Cyberpunk 2077 shows that CD Projekt is still planning to release a multiplayer game mode and will have at least two expansions.
