Samsung may be developing a flip phone with a large secondary screen and dual punch-hole selfie cameras. The appearance patent was submitted to the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office in August 2019, but it was not publicly included until recently. The external design of this flip phone is very similar to Galaxy Z Flip, but with the addition of new elements such as a large secondary screen.
Like the Galaxy Z Flip, the phone is folded in the middle position, and the outer panel has a large secondary screen, which may show notifications, time, and date, and it should even be able to interact with applications and user interfaces. There are three horizontally arranged cameras on the rear panel.
There are two tiny cutouts next to its outer display, which may be a microphone or LED flash, which is not very clear at this time. The crease in the middle should leave a noticeable crease, and on the whole, this flip phone seems to be slightly wider than the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip flip phone, which can be seen as an upgrade.
The patent document does not provide the hardware specifications of the foldable phone, but considering that it is still in the patent stage, we will never know whether Samsung will launch such a design. From another perspective, Samsung may also implement this design change on its future Galaxy Z flip phones.
