Samsung has commenced the deployment of the July 2023 security update, initially targeting the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S23 models. Subsequently, the update became available for the Galaxy A53 in select markets. Presently, the Galaxy A52s, the predecessor to the aforementioned devices, has begun receiving the latest security update in several European countries.
The new software update, carrying firmware version A528BXXS4EWG1, is currently being rolled out in Poland, with expectations of further availability across additional European regions in the near future. Galaxy A52s owners in Europe are advised to regularly check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and selecting Download and install. Alternatively, the firmware file can be obtained from our firmware database upon its release, allowing users to manually flash it via a Windows-operated computer utilizing the Odin tool.
Featuring a file size of 260MB, the July 2023 security patch addresses over 90 security vulnerabilities present in the previous software version, thereby enhancing the device’s overall security. No new features or performance enhancements accompany this update.
The Galaxy A52s was introduced by Samsung as a subsequent model to the Galaxy A52, necessitated by the scarcity of chipsets. Boasting the highly capable Snapdragon 778G processor, the Galaxy A52s surpasses the power of its predecessors, which employ the Snapdragon 720G and Snapdragon 750G processors in the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G, respectively. This device received the Android 12 update in late 2021, followed by the Android 13 update in late 2022.
