Samsung, a leading Android OEM, is dedicated to improving its camera capabilities, as evidenced by the latest update for one of its camera apps. The company has faced criticism, particularly regarding the camera performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, leaving room for enhancements.
One prominent critic, known as “Ice Universe,” an anonymous industry insider from China, has shed light on the extensive improvements made to Samsung’s “Expert RAW” app. Notably, significant changes have been made to address issues such as abnormal color saturation and yellowish tones in faces, thereby restoring normal levels.
Moreover, the newer 50 MP mode has undergone substantial enhancements. “Ice Universe” emphasizes that the updated Expert RAW 50 MP mode now closely matches the standard 12 MP HDR version in terms of color reproduction and performs exceptionally well.
Several sample shots shared through tweets highlight the evident improvement, particularly in the readjusted saturation, as clearly demonstrated in the preview image.
The new version of S23 Ultra Expert RAW 2.0.10.6 has returned the color saturation of the main camera to the normal level, and the faces are no longer yellowish. However, the ultra-wide angle, 3x and 10x have not changed, and are still oversaturated. 50MP also has a huge change,… pic.twitter.com/F7VxXNrBRy

The order is: default 12MP, default 50MP, default 200MP, and new expert raw 50mp.What I want to say is that the new version of expert raw 50MP is the one closest to the default 12MP HDR and color, and it performs best, instead of the default 50MP and 200MP. pic.twitter.com/EmiANlBSuU
