Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, recently hinted at the conclusion of the “beta” phase for the Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in a tweet. Musk’s statement suggests that the upcoming FSD V12 update will no longer carry the “Beta” designation.
Responding to a jest from a long-time FSD beta user about the potential delay of FSD Beta 12, Musk simply stated, “V12 will not be a beta.”
The FSD beta project was initiated in October 2020 and has undergone continuous updates since then. Tesla’s FSD, with the introduction of FSD Beta V11, has already demonstrated its suitability for both urban and highway driving. Several updates have been rolled out under the V11 version.
While Musk’s announcement brings excitement, it is worth considering that he may be alluding to Tesla’s decision to remove the “beta” designation for the FSD kit. Tesla’s Autopilot, although still in beta, is not referred to as “Autopilot beta.”

Tesla has dedicated considerable efforts to refining the FSD beta, and with the anticipated production launch of the Dojo supercomputer in July, the system could witness significant enhancements in the near future.
During his participation in the Viva Technology conference in Paris, France, Musk emphasized Tesla’s proximity to achieving fully self-driving cars, highlighting that self-driving technology represents a major driver of the brand’s market value.
