This update carries the firmware version A536USQS6CWE5 and is currently accessible for users on Dish Wireless network. It is anticipated that other carriers will roll out the update in the coming days.
June 08/2023: Samsung is swiftly rolling out the June 2023 security update to its mid-range and high-end Galaxy devices, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring device security. The first phone to receive the update is the Galaxy Z Fold 4, followed by several mid-range phones. Now, Samsung is extending the update to the Galaxy A53 in the United States.
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 5G in the US is now receiving the new update, identified by the firmware version A536USQS6CWE5. Currently, the update is available on Dish Wireless’ network, and it is expected to be released by other carriers in the coming days. This update includes the June 2023 security patch, which addresses over 60 security flaws identified in Galaxy phones and tablets. Some of these vulnerabilities are associated with Exynos chips, while others pertain to the Knox security suite.
If you own a carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 in the US, you can easily check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and selecting the Download and Install option. Alternatively, you can manually download the firmware file from the Samsung firmware database and flash it onto your device. Please note that the unlocked version of the phone has not yet received the update.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy A53 5G early last year, featuring Android 12 as its operating system. Subsequently, the device received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update late last year and the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year.
