Leaked images reveal thinner bezels and quick-switch band in upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 Series

Samsung is preparing to unveil its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, in just over a month. Official-looking images have surfaced today, providing a glimpse into what can be expected from these new devices.

Published by WinFuture, the images showcase the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic from various angles and color variations. The Galaxy Watch 6 bears a striking resemblance to its predecessors, the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5, boasting a sporty design featuring band lugs, two buttons, and a sleek sapphire crystal panel that covers the display.

The primary distinction lies in the bezels, which have been noticeably slimmed down. This modification allows for a larger display, rumored to measure 1.31 inches and 1.47 inches for the smaller and larger sizes, respectively. Despite maintaining the same dimensions as its predecessors, at 40mm and 44mm, the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to house a larger battery.

The Galaxy Watch 6 will reportedly be available in black, silver, and tan/beige color options. Notably, the bands are equipped with new quick-switch mechanisms. It remains uncertain whether this signifies a departure from the traditional pin mechanism, but the quick-switch design bears resemblance to Google’s unsuccessful “Mode” bands.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic features the anticipated reintroduction of the physical rotating bezel. The overall design closely resembles that of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, albeit with a slightly slimmer bezel and an expanded display. Furthermore, the Classic variant is expected to be larger overall, with sizes of 43mm and 47mm, contrasting with the previous 42mm and 46mm options.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is set to be available in black and silver color variants, with a new leather band featuring visible stitching. While specifications for the Galaxy Watch 6 series are yet to be confirmed, Samsung is rumored to employ a new Exynos W930 chipset, which may offer improved performance. Both smartwatches are slated for a late July launch and are expected to come preloaded with Wear OS 4.
