In December 2020, Google launched a new Google Photos feature that automatically gave your photos a cinematic effect, creating a three-dimensional representation of the scene. A year later, the company updated algorithms so that machine learning filled in parts of the background behind the object.
Until now, however, users had no way of creating cinematic photos themselves. You should have been lucky enough for Google Photos to create a photo with a cinematic effect. But that’s about to change.
Under Library/Utilities, there will be a new item called “Cinematic Photo”. By opening it you’ll be able to create a photo with 3D cinematic effects by yourself from any image in your library. (processing results attached)
*This feature is already being rolled out to some users
*Exclusive of Google One subscription and Pixel devices.
