Recently, in an email Dropbox disclosed that Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs collaboration will complete soon. In this, they bring shortcuts in place of the flies. Users can transfer Dropbox account files to Google Drive for 30 days after getting notice and those files are automatically converted to Microsoft Office files.
Previously, Dropbox users can create, share, and edit Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Slides and for these tasks, they do not need to leave the site. The integration of Google Cloud and Dropbox allowed the user to host their editors for Docs, Slides, and Sheets, and transfer files in Google Drive without any problem.
Now, Dropbox users have two options either choose Google Drive where the files are replaced by the shortcuts, or Microsoft, for maintaining access to their files. Users need to focus on the subject line of this email as “[Action Required] Migrating your Google files,” which gives information about the migration process.
This new modification enabled the users to maintain access to their Google files, well managed with Dropbox content, and enable users to access the new features. Suppose users won’t connect to the Google Drive to Dropbox, all Google Workspace in their Dropbox (.gdoc, .gsheet, and .gslides) then automatically transfers into their Microsoft Office as (.docx, .xlsx, and .pptx).
Later, they will include some security features to this Dropbox integration feature like password protection. For converting Microsoft files to Google format users need to upload them back to Google Drive.
