In India, Redmi Note 12 Pro was launched on 5th January at ₹26,999 (₹20,500 in China) for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. A guy bought it on 13th February 23 at the same price. On April 11, 2023, while working in the evening, he felt a burning sensation in the upper pocket where his phone was kept. He kept it immediately on the ground and then the phone exploded.
After Calling REDMI customer care for help, he did not get any satisfactory response. In short, they ignored him. Now he threatens to take legal action against Xiaomi India if they did not help him. Even in a Twitter thread, many people are saying that Redmi Note 12 Pro indeed heats when using Dual Sim 5G and the pathetic after-sales service Xiaomi India gave.
There have been a lot of cases where POCO is keeping their Dead smartphones when a customer brings them to them for like 2 months and then returned them.
