The iPhone 15 Pro Max/ Ultra will be using Sony IMX 903 as its main 48MP camera sensor (f/1.14″). This sensor is once again custom developed by Sony and is ONLY for Apple and will not be sold to other OEMs. It will also have a Periscope camera with 5-6x Zoom.
Compared to Samsung HP2 200MP sensor used in S23 Ultra:
- 48MP IMX 903 will have the same capability except for 200MP
- Similar amounts of electrons
- 20% more light intake than hp2
- Hardware 14bit DNG raw confirmed
- Expert raw has 16bit ( but software )
- 120 ~ 150MB per file size
- Captures True Dolby Vision 12bit recording
Compared to the 1-inch IMX 989 used in Xiaomi & Oppo Flagships:
- IMX 903 is Twice as strong as IMX 989
- Double bit-rate capability
- Price almost 2x of IMX 989
