Google has recently released the first beta of Android 14 and inside the core, it includes various features that you might be looking for. Thanks to the 9To5Google team for sharing these new custom lock screen clocks, a Wallpaper & style redesign, and more features.
Android 14 Beta 1 Features: Lock Screen, Single App recording, Wallpapers, and more
Customized lock screen clock
Android 14 Beta includes the new customizable clocks feature in the Wallpaper & style applet. To recall, this feature was first spotted while Android 10 was in development, back in 2019. You can now choose, two main options for customizing your clock: “Color” and “Size.”
Single-app screen recording
In the latest Android version, the screen recording dialogue will include a new drop-down box allowing you to choose between “Record entire screen” and “Record a single app.”
Lock screen shortcuts
Android 14 will include customizable lock screen shortcuts. Using a new “Shortcuts” option in Wallpaper & Style, you can individually change the left and right buttons to one of a handful of options:

- Video camera
- Mute
- Device controls
- Camera
- Do Not Disturb
Wallpaper & style redesign
In Android 14 the Wallpaper & style were redesigned. It’s now divided into two core tabs, “Lock screen” and “Home screen.”
‘Minimized’ clipboard overlay
In Android 14, if you have the keyboard open, the clipboard overlay will initially appear in a “minimized” way. All that will appear is a small, rounded-rectangle-shaped button, which you can tap to see the full preview.
Font size tile
In Google Android 14 Beta 1 version you will be able to see a new “Font size” Quick Settings tile.
