According to the latest report, Google Contacts for Android now offers a “Personal Contacts” home screen widget, as well as we also saw some “Favorites Contacts”. Talking about individual contact, it shows a profile picture which when tapped opens the full detail page of that person. You can also find phone and messaging shortcuts if you maximize them. As per the report, you can long-press on the widget to quickly select another contact via the pencil in the bottom-right corner.
However, the latest Google Contacts feature is currently not rolled out widely. This new widget from Google Contacts asks you to select a Google or device account to determine which starred contacts to pull. We’re seeing new widgets with version 4.5.24.x of Google Contacts for Android on both Pixel and Samsung devices.
