Google Docs is improving its formatting options for all other tables and adding more customization options for tables of contents following its major Material You redesign. You now can turn on and off page numbers in a third default style, which is especially helpful if you keep the document online:
- Toggle tab leader styling (adds lines between a heading and the page number): Three options.
- Include and indent headings based on levels: Heading Levels
The sidebar labeled Table of Contents provides access to these brand-new preferences. To refresh for “More options,” tap the overflow menu button next to the table of contents you’ve created or selected.
Reorganizing the options included in the table properties sidebar” is another thing Google is doing.
Upon adding or editing a table, you will notice a new “Table” section with alignment preferences and a new “Cell” section with clearer cell-specific formatting options within the table properties sidebar.
Over the next few weeks, all users of Google Docs will be able to choose from a wider variety of formatting and tables of contents options.
Available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers. Available to users with personal Google Accounts.
At last, we will know more about this update.
