This update was promised as part of the March Pixel Feature Drop. A new shutter duration toggle will now appear in the lower right corner in Night Sight mode, with values dynamically changing for each of the two positions depending on lighting conditions, ranging from 1 to 6 seconds.
This functionality has already been available on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro since their release and now appears on the previous generation of flagships. To get Faster Night Sight you need to update to the new version of Google Camera v.8.8.224.514217832.10.
