Apple is also introducing Wi-Fi 6E in its upcoming products. And this feature will probably be seen in the iPhone 15 series as well.
Last year Qualcomm announced the same technology, but somehow you don’t find it in smartphones yet. This shows that there are still problems and that the demand for the iPhone probably cannot be met. But it won’t be conclusive until late 2023, as I suspect Wi-Fi 7 won’t actually roll out until 2024.
iPhone 15 & 15 Pro features:
- Qualcomm’s X70 chip: has improved AI for faster processing speeds, better coverage range, improved signal, lower latency, and up to 60% improved power efficiency.
- New Sony IMX Custom sensor: Sony’s newest “state of the art” image sensors will be used that double the saturation signal in each pixel, allowing it to capture more light to cut down on under and overexposure.
- New design: All iPhone 15 models will have the Dynamic Island along with curved rear edges replacing the squared-off design
- USB Type-C: iPhone 15’s will support at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. If the former, the transfer speeds will be 20 Gb/s and the latter will offer 40 Gb/
- Periscope lens: The Pro series might get 6x zoom
- 8GB RAM
- A17 Bionic SoC: Built on TSMC’s 3nm process, A17 will increase performance by 10-15%, and reduce power consumption by up to 35%, also rumored to have ray tracing technology
- Titanium alloy body instead of aluminum/stainless steel. It’s more resistant to scratches, and its stiffness makes it durable enough to withstand bending.
- Solid-state Volume/Power buttons, similar to the Home button of iPhone 7. It would use haptic feedback to mimic the feel of a pressed button.
