The well-known Korean media Naver stated that we will get to see the water drop hinge on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. But Samsung is planning it now, not confirmed. Samsung is hoping that with the help of the water drop hinge, users can get a softer curve when it folds. This may also reduce the risk of screen creases and screen cracking.
It should be a breakthrough in water drop + waterproof technology. Chinese manufacturers basically use drop hinges with wide and shallow multiple creases. Samsung’s previous ones are U-shaped hinges with narrow and deep single creases.
Samsung has improved the crease area a lot in the last few years. This effect is especially visible on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Earlier, the tipsters revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will arrive with a 7.6″ foldable display and more.
