A bug in Google Calendar makes events at random based on Gmail emails
Google Calendar has been showing all-day events that are randomly generated based on Gmail messages. But don’t necessarily relate to any particular event for the past few days or so. There’s no reasonable example with this bug. However, it appears to be that messages with dates referenced might be one trigger.
A U.S. Financial Privacy Notice that appears as an all-day calendar event and as a reminder notification on Android phones with the same title is a common event that we are seeing created on one of our accounts as well as some others. These occurrences also appear to be sparked by newsletters.
Although the exact cause is still unknown, the solution should be fairly straightforward. Heading into Google Schedule settings under Settings > Occasions from Gmail ought to prevent these occasions from being made while switching off the checkbox Consequently add occasions from Gmail to my schedule. Additionally, this fix has been utilized to stop 2019’s spam invites.
Y’all, my @googlecalendar has started creating random events based on emails I’ve gotten … only it’s just like, random marketing content and newsletters.
