Since hardware development continues for many years to come, today’s leak of the Google Pixel’s 2025 roadmap is on target. If Google sticks to it, the next three years of Pixel phones will show, barring any disruptions, that Google wants to offer a variety of devices that are more diverse than the iPhone.

- Pixel in 2023
- Pixel 7a: Lynx
- Pixel 8 and 8 Pro: Shiba and Husky
- Pixel Fold: Felix
- Pixel Tablet: Tangor/Pro
Pricing for Google’s next mid-range phone is said to remain the same, and solid foldable renders have surfaced in recent weeks. Android Authority says that while the Pixel 8 Pro stays the same, the Pixel 8 “will have a smaller display and overall smaller form factor.”
Pixel in 2024
Google is said to be planning interesting strategy shifts for the following year. As part of a $50 price increase, the Pixel 8a, which is codenamed after a dog, will cost $499. Given how much the landscape could change between now and then, it’s best to think of that as a goal rather than something fixed.
The plan that was mentioned earlier for the Pixel 8a might change depending on how well the Pixel 7a does in the market. Google is said to be moving to a two-year release cycle if that’s the case.
- Pixel 8a: Akita
- Pixel 9: No codename, curiously
- 6.3-inch Pixel 9 Pro: Caiman
- 6.7-inch Pixel 9 Pro: Komodo
- Pixel foldable follow-up
That isn’t the only departure based on Apple’s iPhone, specifically the SE lineup; the Pixel 9 Pro is said to be available in two sizes, returning to the XL model that was discontinued in the Pixel 4 series. According to Android Authority, this trio of phones is “set in stone.”
Lastly, a “follow-up foldable” could be introduced in 2024, but no other specifics are available.
Pixel in 2025
- Smaller Pixel 10
- Larger Pixel 10 or flip-style foldable
- Smaller Pixel 10 Pro
- Larger Pixel 10 Pro
- Pixel foldable follow-up
According to this leak of Google’s 2025 roadmap, a flip-style device like the Galaxy Z Flip sounds a little more certain than the Pixel Fold of 2023. However, to imitate the 10 Pro series, Google is considering a different strategy that only consists of a smaller and larger version of the Pixel 10. This would truly match the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the iPhone 14 Plus, which appears to be selling poorly.
Lastly, Google demonstrated its desire for a “Collection” of devices with the Pixel Watch and upcoming Tablet. If these leaks are true, they show that Google prefers depth to range in its offerings.
