Google Lens is a shortcut that can be used in the image viewer to search the web for similar results. However, it appears that the company may alter how this image search tool functions within Photos. Google has long expanded this functionality

The Google Lens button no longer appears in the image viewer for some users of Google Photos. A brand-new generic search shortcut takes its place. When you use it on images with faces, it finds the people in the picture and lets you do a reverse search for their faces.
The new button is a handy way to go back in time with related pictures, but it doesn’t have any new features. When you swipe up or click the three dots in the top right corner to access the menu. You can search for additional images featuring the same people or faces in that menu. Tapping the single to search for in the image itself rather than in its own field is simpler.
Other than looking for pictures showing the very individual as the one that you select, you’re as yet ready to rapidly bounce into the Google Focal point insight assuming that you require it. You can tap other objects and parts of the image, just like before.
Lastly, to see if Google Lens can provide you with additional context or information about them. This still requires two steps to access Lens; if you’ve been using Lens a lot, this might be a change.
