On 1 July 2022 Sony Xperia 1 IV was launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Android v12, RAM 12 GB and storage of 256 GB, Battery 5000mAh and Camera 12 MP, Primary Camera(24 mm focal length, 1.7″ sensor size, 1.8µm pixel size)12 MP f/2.2, Ultra-Wide Angle Camera(16 mm focal length, 2.55″ sensor size)12 MP f/2.3, Telephoto Camera. Now, the presentation of the Sony Xperia 1 V takes some more weeks.
But the rumors say that about the camera specifications, Sony makes narrower margins of error than others because it provides more sensors to the Android Manufacturers, and as it is at top of the range so its measurement may be more exact. As per the rumors filtering from China taken by Japanese specialized sites, it seems that in Tokyo, at least on a technical level.
Including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 there is no doubt at all, the next-generation top-of-the-range chip that Qualcomm should present shortly. There is, the deal is complicated by touching on the theme of cameras.
The rear cameras will maybe three as on the Xperia 1 IV, but if on this they are all 12 megapixels on the successor they will all be 48 megapixels. Four times the resolution to marry the cause of pixel binning, the system merges four pixels into one to obtain 12-megapixel images as on Xperia 1 IV but with brighter pixels.
In this phone the main sensor will be the same, it is said, that is sent by Sony to the factories where the iPhone 14 is assembled but with some variations on the theme, while for the ultra-wide angle there is always a 48 megapixel 1/2 sensor, 4 inches with 12-megapixel pixel binning. Sony Xperia 1 V, however, will be talked about for the telephoto lens. The rumor says an impressive camera with an equivalent focal length of 70-200 millimeters.
Two years ago with the Xperia 1 III Sony stunned enthusiasts and observers with the first periscopic telephoto lens with 70-105 mm variable focal length, with the Xperia 1 IV we arrived at a continuous zoom between two focal lengths along with fixed lenses 85 -125 mm while with Xperia 1 V it seems that the state of the art will be reached: minimum focal length of 70 mm and maximum of 200 mm. Translated, it means that assuming (and we shouldn’t be far from reality) a “classic” equivalent focal length for the 24mm main sensor, the Xperia 1 V’s periscopic telephoto lens will offer a continuous optical zoom between 2.9 and 8.3x.
The update comes from the launch for which the information could be inaccurate, but knowing Sony it would not be surprising. The next update on this ensures that all these rumors will come in the future or are just rumors and tell more about this phone.
