Everyone waiting for Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, it will be going on the 6 October hardware event. The company has already given us an idea of the upcoming Pixel phones back at Google I/O, and some details or features will be clearer when these latest phones are released officially. The main feature is the forthcoming Tensor G2 chip, which is the second generation of the Google Tensor chip in collaboration with Samsung. The chip introduces in the Pixel 6 series, maybe this chip is behind the competition over the last year, and everyone waiting for more enhancements in this.
As per the reference of the Android Developer, Kuba Wojciechowski on Twitter dug on the Pixel 7 Tensor G2 chip and found Google doesn’t change much in the CPU cores from which used in the last year’s Tensor and this year’s Tensor G2. They are using the same combination of two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores, although with slightly higher clock speeds. This boosted little bit speeds which combined with the smaller 4nm die size being used showed to enhance the Tensor G2 and Pixel 7 pro-multi-core standard by around 10 %.
The Tensor G2 chip needs to be performed like Snapdragon 8+ Gen for heat reduction and power efficiency. As per Kuba, the design of this chip shows that it will improve its performance. The Pixel 7 Pro’s Tensor G2 will boost its GPU and also switches from the Mali-G78 to the Mali-G710. This new GPU offers 20% better power efficiency, and even 35% better for machine learning use, the key focuses of the Tensor line.
Google plans to include the next generation of its Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) and its codenames Janeiro in the Tensor G2 and it will boost the Pixel 7 series. One more standard is that the Pixel 7 Pro will include the feature of 12 GB of RAM just like the Pixel 6 Pro.
So, after seeing the specs of the upcoming Pixel, showing that it will not perform well as compared to the Pixel 6, its regular update shows that it will enhance the efficiency of the Pixel’s phone.
