Google is said to bring the production of its Pixel smartphone to the Indian market. The count is predicted for about 500,000 and 1 million Pixel smartphones.
The figure is not that much but if we believe in the latest report, the proposed bids represent 10% to 20% of Pixel’s entire annual production.
If Google goes ahead with the plan, it would show the company’s growing commitment to its smartphone business.
This will help Google to enhance its Pixel smartphone sales in the country, the company’s largest user market, where it has pledged to spend $10 billion over several years.
Over the past three years, Google hasn’t launched any flagship phones, focusing instead on serving the market with mid-range A-series phones.
Apple has done previously the same thing and now Google is looking to do it. Apple, which began assembling iPhones in India five years ago, is expected to start producing the iPhone 14 lineup in India later this year.
