Recently, Samsung informed us that the company is rolling out an Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 software update to its latest Galaxy Tab S8 series in South Korea and the US with a lot of new features and the update also added the most awaited feature – Multi-Tasking.

Samsung’s One UI 4.1.1 was first introduced in the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and some reports claim that the update also is available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 users soon. The most important feature of this update is the taskbar menu, which has been designed in view of the taskbar menu of Windows.

Recently, the first non-folding or not-tab device that grabbed this software update is no other than the Galaxy S22 series which got this update on September 1st, in the US.

Samsung Explains:

A notable change the 12L update will bring to the Galaxy Tab S8 series is the addition of a taskbar at the bottom of the screen, making the tablet’s UI more intuitive and user-friendly than ever before. Going forward, Galaxy Tab S8 series users can enjoy swifter, more intuitive app switching, more customizable layouts, frictionless multitasking and applications that render better than ever on large screens. Split Screen View can support up to three screens, the taskbar can be temporarily hidden for a more immersive screen view, notifications can be dragged straight into split screen, and all apps can be viewed in a grid-style layout, to name a few of the changes users can expect.

Step-by-step guide: Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs > Click on “Swipe for split screen” to turn on the feature

Step-by-step guide: Open App pair (up to three apps at once) > Tap the three dots in the border between the apps > Click the star-shaped Favorite symbol > Add the app pair to the taskbar

Step-by-step guide: Open your Samsung Calendar/Clock/Reminder > Plan a new event in a pop-over > Touch and hold the screen outside the pop-over to peek through
