According to the Steam official, the Steam client beta version has supported the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con handle. As per the Steam update announcement, players can use either a single handle in the Joy-Con to play or a combination of two Joy-Con handles, which is as convenient as a Switch console.
If you want to experience this feature first, you can click Steam in the upper left corner of the Steam client, and then click Settings > Account to join the beta test. If you feel that there are still some problems with the Joy-Con handle adaptation, you can map the handle under Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings, and you can map it to the configuration you want.
