Yesterday, we reported that the August 2022 security patch update was released for the Realme GT series and it includes Realme GT 5G and Realme GT 2. Now, the Realme Community officially released the Android 13 Early Access update for the Realme GT 2 Pro.
Some users are confused about what is Early Access Program, so the answer is this is a beta program that allows you to experience the Android update for the first time. Keep in mind that being early software there might be bugs and some apps might not work properly. It might not be recommended to install the Early Access software on your primary phone.
Android 13 Early Access Joining Tips:
Disclaimer – Thoroughly read and understand the disclaimer below before applying:
- Please make sure your phone is not rooted.
- To prevent data loss, please backup your personal data before proceeding.
- Some third-party application versions might not be compatible with Android 13 yet, after updating these applications might not be available or crash on your device. Therefore, it is recommended to update all your applications to the latest version available on the Play Store before your update.
- The Early Access versions may have an unpredictable impact on your phone and affect on daily use.
- Please ensure that the available phone storage is more than 10 GB. Otherwise, there will be a risk of update failure (To check the phone storage head to Settings > Additional Settings > Storage).
- Due to unpredictable factors such as network communication and strategy adjustment, it is not possible to guarantee that every applicant will receive the update. In case the update is not received, we suggest you patiently wait for the official release.
Early Access Application
- Make sure your realme GT 2 Pro has a 60%+ battery.
- Update your device to the required UI version → RMX3301_11.A.16/ RMX3301_11.A.17
- Apply for the Early Access via the Software Update Application channel: (Settings → Software Update → Tap on the settings icon in the top right corner → Trial Version → Apply Now → Submit your details and finish the quiz).
Note: If you update your Realme GT 2 Pro with the Early Access Program and you don’t like it and go back to Android 12 then we will give you some tips which you can go to Android 12 by following.
How do I roll back to Android 12?
A) Read the disclaimer below and follow the instructions to roll back:
- Your personal data will be erased when you roll back. Please back up your data before the operation.
- You will not be able to get back to the Early Access version once you have rolled back.
- You need to manually update to the latest Realme UI 3.0 version in case you lost some pre-installed applications.
Step 1: Download the rollback package onto your phone’s directory.
Step 2: Locate and install the rollback package:
- Settings → About phone → Click on the “realme UI 3.0” banner at the top → Click on the three dots in the top right corner → Local install → Find and tap the rollback package to roll back to the previous version.
