At first, there was still talk of a OnePlus 10 Ultra, which was supposed to be located above the OnePlus 10 Pro, but these rumors were already resolved before the launch event was announced. Today, OnePlus presented a new flagship with the OnePlus 10T 5G.
In the case of the OnePlus 10T, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is central, which works as an SoC in the smartphone. The Qualcomm chipset is said to be more powerful but also more efficient. In addition to the 5G modem, it also comes with Wi-Fi 6 (2×2 MIMO) and Bluetooth 5.3 (supported codecs: aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, AAC). There is a choice of 128 GB or 256 GB of storage space (UFS 3.1), which come in a package with 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM (LPDDR5). All this is in a device with dimensions of 163 × 75.37 × 8.75 mm. The smartphone weighs around 204 grams.
On the front: A 6.7-inch (approx. 17 cm) AMOLED panel under Gorilla Glass 5. That delivers refresh rates of up to 120 Hz, but only 60 Hz and 90 Hz adaptively – no LTPO 2.0 with 1 Hz and up. The display has a resolution of 2412×1080 pixels (394 PPI). A 16-megapixel sensor for the front camera sits in the center punch hole.

On the back, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, there are three camera lenses. The cooperation with Hasselblad is not used here, but 10-bit colors are. Sony’s IMX766 serves as the main sensor. It offers 50 megapixels, OIS and EIS with an aperture of f/1.8. The ultra-wide-angle camera with a viewing angle of 120 degrees doesn’t promise anything big with 8 megapixels. The same applies to a macro camera with 2 megapixels. 4K video recordings with up to 60 FPS are supported.
In terms of connectivity, a USB-C port is available. USB 2.0 is also used here. Charging is more advanced. With up to 150 watts of pressure charging, the 4,800 mAh battery of the OnePlus 10T can be fully recharged within 19 minutes.
OnePlus promises a battery that should still reach over 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 cycles. The charger is included in the scope of delivery in the form of a 160-watt SuperVOOC adapter. OnePlus will also launch an 80-watt car charger (12 volts).
Miscellaneous? OnePlus does without the Alert Slider. According to its own statements, it would not have found a place in the device. Shortly before the launch of Android 13, it is, unfortunately – as of now – for the OnePlus 10T: three updates are coming, but Android 13 is one of them. That should be available later this year. A first look at OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 was also shown at today’s event. Security updates are available for four years.
The OnePlus 10T is delivered with OxygenOS 12.1. The 10T relies on stereo speakers and supports Dolby Atmos. Incidentally, OnePlus headphones are also being upgraded to Google’s Fast Pair. So far, the fast pairing has only been supported with your smartphone, not the headphones.
The OnePlus 10T will be available in Moonstone Black and Jadegreen colors from August 25th. However, it can be pre-ordered from August 11, 2022. Costs for 8 GB and 128 GB are 699 euros, for double RAM and storage space, 799 euros are due.
