The work of the WhatsApp developer team to improve this popular multi-platform instant messaging service continues unabated and in the past few hours the release of a new beta version of the application dedicated to Android-based devices has been launched: we are talking about version 2.22.17.8.
What’s new in WhatsApp Beta version 2.22.17.8 for Android
In recent weeks it has emerged that the WhatsApp team is working on a new feature that concerns status updates and in particular links, for which it plans the introduction of a preview. Well, with version 2.22.17.8 for some beta users it was introduced the possibility to take advantage of this new feature and include previews of the links in their status updates.
Below is a screenshot with the old interface and one with the new active feature:
As shown in the image above, checking if the feature is already available for your account is very simple, as you just need to include a link in the status update and find out if the preview is generated.
At present, this feature has only been made available to a small group of beta users and over the next few weeks its availability will be extended to other users.
At the moment there is no information on when this functionality will come out of the test phase and will be made available to all users through its implementation in a stable version of the application.
