Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev Channel can download and install the new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25169 recently released by Microsoft. One of the new features is the so-called “Multi-App Kiosk Mode”, which enables admins to release apps and features for a device from the outset, while other functions are blocked. Microsoft cites the following as examples of such features:
- Restricting access to settings, except for selected pages (e.g. Wi-Fi and screen brightness)
- Lock the Start menu to show only approved applications.
- Block toast notifications and pop-ups that result in unwanted UI.
The multi-app kiosk mode is useful, among other things, when one and the same device is used by several users. So far, the whole thing can only be activated via the PowerShell/WMI Bridge.
And then there’s news about Windows Spotlight. From now on, this can be activated directly as a theme in the settings (Settings > Personalization and Settings > Personalization > Themes). You can read more innovations and, above all, an overview of all the bugs that have now been fixed in the new build directly in the announcement.
