Google makes massive improvements to Chromebooks

Chromebooks Update

Chromebooks Update

Chromebooks, i.e. notebooks or tablets with ChromeOS, can look forward to many exciting innovations. Google has announced a major summer update.

New features and new apps

New features and apps will be rolled out for Chromebooks over the coming weeks and months. These include wallpapers from Google Photos with automatic switching, an optional dark mode, a desktop save function with all windows and apps, as well as quick access to Google Calendar and grouped notifications.

Google also had plenty to announce about the new or revised apps. A better PDF editor is coming soon in the gallery to edit documents completely digitally. Screencast records transcribed videos and presentations. The Cursive app makes it possible to create handwritten documents and notes.

Google photos including video editor will be significantly expanded

This fall, a massive Google Photos with video editor launches on Chromebooks. Google promises extensive functions that even beginners should be able to cope with. With this feature, Google closes a gap and definitely appeals to even more potential users.

You can choose from pre-designed movie themes or start from a blank canvas. Google also integrates its photos app directly into the ChromeOS file manager. So whether the media comes from the hard drive or from Google Photos is irrelevant. In addition, LumaFusion is brought to Chromebooks in order to be able to serve even higher demands.

According to Google, it has been busy with further developments for ChromeOS throughout the summer. In my opinion, the next big feature drop can be expected in autumn at the latest around the usual October event.
