Ubisoft has reportedly delayed the new Assassin’s Creed game until spring 2023. Although not officially announced, Bloomberg reported in February this year that Ubisoft plans to launch a small stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game, codenamed Rift, set in the Middle East (Baghdad) this year or 2023, Ubisoft Bordeaux, France The studio leads the development.
In Ubisoft’s most recent earnings report, Ubisoft extended Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier and a “small unannounced premium game” to fiscal 2024 (April 2023-March 2024).
Bloomberg reports that the small game is Assassin’s Creed: Rift. Ubisoft Bordeaux Studios is asking for more development time because the game is far behind Ubisoft’s plans.
“Assassin’s Creed: Rift” jumping out of Ubisoft’s fiscal year will greatly affect Ubisoft’s financial results. Now the game is expected to be released in May-June 2023.
