This news is coming from the last two months that users may be transferred Android chat to iOS on WhatsApp. But now this is officially available. WhatsApp has announced in the past few hours that the function to migrate app data from Android to iOS and vice versa is now available for all users.
The news comes just over a month after the activation of a similar function in the beta version of the client. This means that even those who now use a stable version should receive the activation of the function that satisfies – finally with an official tool – a need for some time expressed by users.

Basically, the function allows you to transfer account information, profile photo, single and group chats, chat history, multimedia content and settings from the WhatsApp app for Android to iOS. However, the call history and display name are not transferred.
It is also important to keep in mind some important information on the data transferred:
- They are not stored in the cloud until an iCloud backup is created.
- They cannot be viewed via WhatsApp
- They also remain stored in the Android smartphone until WhatsApp is deleted or the smartphone memory is deleted
To contextualize the news, it should be remembered that WhatsApp has offered since last autumn the possibility of carrying out the reverse operation (migration from iPhone to Android) even with Pixel and Android 12-based smartphones – previously it was possible to do this only towards a limited number of Samsung models.
REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER FROM ANDROID TO IOS
The WhatsApp team has prepared an exhaustive FAQ section (link in SOURCE) which explains in detail everything you need to carry out the operation. In summary, the requirements for migrating from Android to iPhone are:
- Android smartphone with Android 5.0 or later
- iOS smartphone with iOS 15.5 or later
- WhatsApp for Android in version 2.22.7.74 or later
- WhatsApp for iOS in version 2.22.19.70 or later
- Switch to iOS app (DOWNLOAD) installed on the Android smartphone
- The same phone number is used on both devices
- Migration from Android to iOS can only be done to an iPhone set or reset to factory settings to be paired with the Switch to IOS app
- Both devices must be connected to the electricity network and to the same WiFi network (the Android smartphone can also be connected in a hotspot to iPhone)
TRANSFER MODE FROM ANDROID IOS
Specifically, to perform the operation, simply follow these steps:
- Open the Switch to iOS app on your Android phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
- A code will appear on the iPhone. When prompted, enter the code into the Android smartphone.
- Touch Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
- Select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen.
- Tap START on the Android phone and wait for WhatsApp to prepare the data for export. When the data is ready, the account will be disconnected from the Android phone.
- Tap NEXT to return to the Switch to iOS app.
- Tap CONTINUE to transfer data from Android phone to iPhone and wait for Switch to iOS to confirm that the transfer is complete.
- Install the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
- Open WhatsApp and log in with the same phone number used on the old device.
- Tap Start when prompted and wait for the process to complete.
- Once the activation of the new device is complete, the chats will have been successfully restored.
