Xiaomi announced in April that from July 18, 2022, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30i 5G, Redmi K30, Xiaomi 10, Xiaomi 10 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro, Xiaomi The 10 Youth Edition has stopped the development version of the internal beta, and today has reached the stop date.
In general, these models have been released for more than two years. Considering that the baseline of most Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 models is Android 10, most manufacturers will update it for three years, that is, to support Android 12 or Android 13 version, which is placed below. It is also reasonable to stop the development version adaptation support for half a year.
It is worth mentioning that the Mi 10 series represents this generation of models and is also the first batch of models that Xiaomi officially hits the high-end. However, this stop does not include the Xiaomi Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition and the Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition. It is expected that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra will support longer.
Starting with MIUI based on Android 13, MIUI will focus on two versions, the “development version” and the “official version”. The MIUI development version will continue to be updated weekly, and the official version will be updated based on user usage. Xiaomi also promised that the development version and the official version will gradually realize switching between versions without clearing data.
Xiaomi said that new features and optimizations will be released as a development version first, and the product experience will be updated iteratively, with reliable functions and stability, and then released as an official version.
The new development version will recruit more users who actively participate in the co-construction, and the internal test score will also be adjusted with the development version to join the Xiaomi community growth system. Xiaomi will issue the “Development Edition Internal Beta Commemorative Virtual Medal” to users who have always supported MIUI.
