After a 3-month wait, AMD’s Radeon Software 22.20 release for Linux today finally introduces support for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The new driver also provides preliminary support for the upcoming Ubuntu 22.04.1 maintenance release update.
The Radeon Software for Linux 22.20 driver also adds support for the recently released SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP4 (SLED / SLES 15 SP4) distribution. According to the official changelog, aside from adding support for multiple enterprise Linux distributions, the Radeon Software for Linux 22.20 driver is no different from the older 22.10 version released a few months ago.
However, the new version of the driver brings updated AMDGPU DKMS modules, upgraded OpenGL and Vulkan drivers, and more. The Radeon Software for Linux 22.20 driver is currently available for download on AMD.com’s official website.
