News from Meta subsidiary Instagram. They are probably worried about a sustainable and predictable income for their “creator”. Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, already reported plans in January that this should work via a subscription model. In the good old “OnlyFans manner” there should be exclusive content for subscribers who dig into their pockets, which normal subscribers don’t get to see.
In the past six months, this has probably been extensively tested with a small number of creative people. Content for subscribers is marked with a purple marker, there was live content and badges for subscribers in addition to stories. You can use them to show, among other things, in the comments that you are a paying subscriber to the account.
📣 Subscriptions Update 📣
Subscriptions are a great way for creators to have a predictable income & for fans to get exclusive content from creators that they love.

Now comes the next step for exclusive content and the official rollout. Based on the previous feedback, new functions have been developed, which should also be available exclusively for subscribers. This includes exclusive direct messages with the creator. Up to 30 people are possible in one chat.
So far it has only been exclusive stories for subscribers, but now there is also other content – including posts and reels. The “Subscriber Home” is also being introduced for this purpose, which collects all exclusive content in one place.
