Chrome OS is Google’s Linux-based operating system for Chromebooks. After more than ten years of development, this operating system has a high reputation, especially in the education and enterprise fields. But now Google has decided to make a small adjustment, take out the space in the middle, and call it “ChromeOS”.
James Croom, the senior director in charge of ChromeOS marketing, has confirmed to The Verge that the change from “Chrome OS” to “ChromeOS” has been confirmed. On Google’s ChromeOS developer page, you can see that it has been completely changed.
At present, the renaming and improvement of ChromeOS is still in progress, and some ChromeOS-related pages will still display “Chrome OS”. For example, on a Google Chromebook’s ChromeOS page, “Chrome OS” will still appear. Croom said that the company has not completed the renaming of all places at this stage, but will follow up until the revision is completed.
