Right from the start, users of the Google One subscription platform not only benefit from additional storage space, but also from a number of additional services. These additional services have already been expanded several times and now the next round is starting: If you have a somewhat extensive subscription, you can look forward to premium functions for the video messenger Google Meet.
Depending on the subscription and region, the advantages of Google One are quite extensive and will be expanded again: Many subscribers to the 2 terabyte package, which costs 9.99 euros per month, have had access to the Google VPN and now get the premium features of Google Meet. These include removing the one-hour limit, filtering out background noise, and recording and backing up video calls.
- Removed 1-hour time limit for group video calls. Now up to 24 hours.
- Filter out background noise like barking dogs or construction noise.
- Record and save calls to Google Drive to “relive and share special moments like virtual birthday parties.
These premium features of Google Meet are usually part of the Workspace package and can now be used more or less separately through Google One. With the announcement, Google emphasizes that this has no influence on the various workspace packages, but is only an additional offer for One subscriber.
Other additional features in other workspace apps could follow, similar to the additional features in Google Photos. The new premium package will be rolled out to users in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan and Australia. Other countries are to follow soon, including Germany.
