According to the latest reports, in June this year, Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car in Norway. Model Y sales were strong, twice as fast as its closest competitor, the Volkswagen ID.4.
In April of this year, Tesla’s sales rebounded after the smooth resumption of Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory. Since mid-May, Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory has been actively producing cars and shipping them globally. Most of it was sent to Europe, which had a positive impact on the manufacturer’s sales.
OFV data shows that Tesla Model Y sold 2,533 vehicles in June, occupying 17% of the market share and ranking first. In second place is the Volkswagen ID.4 with 1,244 sales, trailing Tesla by 1,289.
In addition, Skoda Enyaq ranked third with 1,057 sales and a market share of 7.1%. BMW iX ranked fourth with 475 sales and a market share of 3.2%. In fifth place is the Toyota RAV4 with 455 units sold and a market share of 3.1%.
Data show that in June, 14,901 new passenger cars were registered in Norway, a decrease of 5,491 (-26.9%) from June 2021. Meanwhile, the zero-emission vehicle market share continued to rise in June, accounting for 78.7% of the market, up from 64.7% a year earlier.
