Mark Gurman, who works for the US medium Bloomberg, has had good contacts in the Apple environment for years. He would like to know something about the Apple Watch Series 8 (again). It could contain a body temperature sensor that warns if you get an elevated temperature. The Series 8 won’t provide an accurate reading, though, but it could send users a notification asking them to see a doctor or use a thermometer.
Interestingly, he’s predicted this feature of the Apple Watch Series 8 before – and at one point he said it wasn’t coming with the Series 8. Gurman writes in his newsletter that other changes to the Series 8 are likely to be minor. He assumes that the wearables will have the same computing power as the Series 7 and Series 6.
He also mentions that the higher-end Series 8 models could have an updated display. According to the report, the second-generation AirPods Pro should also have only a few innovations. Health functions such as measuring temperature or heart rate are not included.
It is certainly exciting to see how manufacturers generally manage the balancing act between real added value for the user and a symbiosis of durability, performance and endurance.
